[Applied Self-Confidence] Bettering Better Zombie #4

Another 70 posts in the can! Compared to when I was first getting my footing with this website nearly 400 posts ago, things are coalescing now into a finely-tuned machine that seemingly spits out content daily. What if you told me then that I’d be spending an average of three hours daily writing, sometimes waking up at 3AM to write, all to chase my dreams? I’d say good! This dream is the only good fight there is:

  1. Concerts Are Risky
I sat on the idea for this one for a few weeks, until I did enough research, and was sufficiently angry to give it the extra urgency it needed. I applied the same principle to “Seattle’s Mercer Problem.”

  2. New Game” Review
Critical reviews are always tricky for me. This one still took up most of a day writing, but I’m proud of the end product since it goes after the angle of how entertainment can inform our professional careers.

  3. Rowing Machine: “2018: Week 03 {244.4}
This entry specifically of my rowing machine column (and potentially, book) highlighted my growing sense of dedication to rowing simply by applying it to other hobbies. Black Metal Colossus and Black Metal Rowing shirts will eventually become real.

  4. Out of Work II
I’ve written about this many times, and will write about it many more times, because how we perceive reality is important. We aren’t the jobs, hats, or cogs in the corporate machines. We are human beings with emotions!

  5. Ten Years Ago III
I also felt like I hit the nail while writing this one, enough so that I spent an extra hour with the drawing to really sell it well. Sober Living could make for a cool videogame. Narrative platformer?

  6. In Ten Years IV
I came up with some really fascinating ideas while writing this one. Addressing my expectations of “The Story,” how I or others could drum up interest in more intellectual pursuits, and what the future holds were all rewarding.

  7. In Ten Years VI
This one was an experiment that almost failed. I wrote, rewrote, and redid most of it a few times through. People seemed to enjoy it and that’s what’s important when writing. Ideally, both of us should enjoy it.

  8. Words Mean Nothing IV
I’m becoming more comfortable now tackling bigger issues: why sacrifice all this effort, and a comfortable life, on a topic I know next to nothing about? Because this inner flame within me cannot be quenched any other way.

  9. Words Mean Nothing V
After working for months on different characters, Sammohini was the easiest to write, so her story gets to be told first. I don’t know what her future holds. She is, in some way, a fictionalized version of me.

  10. Words Mean Nothing VI
I was really excited when I sat down to write the short story above since I felt it could capture a universal sensation we’ll all feel, and wanted to capture each step of the way, so I did!

I wonder how “Betzom5” will look?

My big goal is to write. My important goal is to write "The Story." My proudest moment is the most recent time I overcame a fear, which should have been today. I'm a better zombie than I was yesterday. Let's strive to be better everyday. (Avatar)
