Since I primarily type and navigate technology with my right hand’s index finger and thumb, I’ve tied these fingers together for method acting during this week’s update to “The Story” to empathize with how John (below, left) would use technology. It’s not easy! John and Trishna (right) are fortunately strong-willed characters, so let’s explore how they’ve adapted to their impairments, how their world broadly considers accessibility, and how technology has helped both them and us.
Punctuating brave, loving, and violent moments somewhere in “The Story” is a quiet scene that’s lingered in my head for years. John (driving) and Trishna are driving along and nothing exciting happens. No car accident or argument. Just a close couple going toward their mutual goal. In this week’s brainstorming update, let’s cover some of how they’ll arrive at their motivation, because while you can have any goal you want, it’s all about getting there.

“What’s in this bag?” “LEGOs.” I passed security, after a chuckle, and entered the venue with the minifigs that represent the main characters of The Story. In this week’s brainstorming update, let’s explore some of the entertainment or dating options that Trishna (seated) and John might attend, including concerts, fairs, carnivals, amusement parks, and other outdoor events, other than just staying at home playing videogames, building projects, or watching movies. Subject to change, of course.

Building off the technological context from last week’s brainstorming update to The Story, and with consideration for Memorial Day, let’s cover how the military service of three characters influenced the civilian main characters John (left, saluting) and Trishna. I haven’t thought much about how much influence, if any, active military will affect the narrative. Maybe this exercise will help? If not directly, then this should help inform situations both within the proper narrative and beyond.

Trishna (seated below) and John are lingering characters in my subconscious that need to be exorcised in a narrative to do them justice tentatively titled The Story. Last week’s brainstorming presented an external exercise to build nuance. Since they’re represented by LEGO minifigs, and I have more than a humble collection, why not let them inform The Story? In this first exercise, a mystery bag revealed a Wildlife Photographer. How interested are they in photography?
