If “The Story” is my writing end goal, why distract myself with so much? The rowing makes sense because it’s good to be healthy. Why not compress it down? Spend that time studying fiction? Read the classics? Take classes, write drafts, send them out for criticism, revise, and learn the craft? Well, the thing about John (left) and Trishna (right) is that they’re two shades of our reality spectrum, and their story references it all.
Video Games Live symphonically celebrates the best of videogame music. Led by composer Tommy Tallarico, the orchestra have performed to sold out theaters worldwide for 12 strong years now. Subjectively, I dig the cultural preservation aspect of the series, respect Tallarico’s composing and reviewing work, and enjoy most classic videogame soundtracks. Objectively, there isn’t much to appeal to folks that aren’t already fans. Can Video Games Live attract wider acceptance to this maligned music genre?

Hell or High Water is more than a mere distraction on a quiet Saturday afternoon and yet doesn’t have staying power. We follow two brothers, smart Toby and reckless Tanner, as they stumble through a series of bank robberies. Toby is a failed family man working toward a better future and Tanner sees no future while seemingly working toward failure. They’re hitting small time banks and covering their tracks well enough that the big cheese new guard is not interested. Who is?
