Don’t run from your pain! Whether it’s a something physical like an injury or something mental like ennui, learn to embrace that pain. Pain will remind you of your motivations more than the seduction of any numbing pleasure. Pain will be with you always. Pleasure is fleeting and addicting. Pleasure will leave you in both your darkest hours and when everything seems wonderful, whereas when disciplined properly, pain will be motivation toward achieving your goals.

[Applied Psychology] GUITAR WOLF’s Motivation

GUITAR WOLF’s concert in 2013 was a defining moment with my work ethic. Before that show, I was an unmotivated zombie that had dreams yet was blocked by my complaining. After seeing their work ethic, evident by the sweat soaking into the stage, something clicked! Eventually, I realized that only through full zealousness to your ideal work can you achieve anything other than an unfulfilled life. It wasn’t an overnight change, so let’s explore the details.

[Concert Etiquette] Please, Polite Photography!

I was nearly kicked out of a Glenn Danzig concert years ago for taking a photograph. Just as he has a right to a “no photography policy,” I have a right to push the limit. The show hadn’t started, so I got off with a stern warning, unlike others that were dragged out later on. During yesterday’s Testament concert, I had time to think about concert etiquette, so let’s start with the most controversial one!

[Toy Review] WWE Zombies 1: The Rock (ZMB1-02)

If the concept behind zombies, and their permeation into popular culture, fascinate you, yet wrestling does not, would the WWE Zombies line of action figures be a good launching point into better appreciating the hobby? Maybe not in terms of suddenly becoming interested in wrestling. Just gaining more of an appreciation. I started with Dwayne Johnson because he’s about as good a candidate as any to test those waters having long broken free from being strictly shackled to wrestling as The Rock.

Movie Review: Inherent Vice (2014)

Inherent Vice is a psychedelic rock jam translated into a movie. We tag along as private investigator “Doc” Sportello takes a case for his ex after she’s moved on from the hippie lifestyle of the late 1960s and into the glamor with a violent undercurrent that would replace it. Life is treating Doc well, though something’s missing, and it’d be easy to say a coherent plot. The lively conversations and vibrant world are more important than plot, similar to these four examples:
