How much will doing drawings like this help me write fiction? Questions like these can be harmful, because then we get too much into the sort of idea of qualifying events, situations, or even people as better or worse than others. We might think “I can’t hang out with this person” because they won’t help me write fiction. When, really, the right approach it to let everyone in, somewhat, and if they’re combative, be polite.
How much of the outside inspires and influences the inside? In “The Story,” as I found while writing “Novel 01,” it was about 50%/50%. I might get inspiration from external sources like EarthBound and exploring the world, but, many of the ideas would start or finish from within. As I return to better health, finish old projects to start writing “Novel 02,” one thing is for sure: I’ll have an online presence when writing, compared to during “Novel 01.”

To write “The Story,” I thought it was just a linear progression through writing “Novel 01” then “Novel 02” and beyond, but as I’ve learned through my livestreaming experiences, that’s not exactly the case. It involves learning myriad skills both related and unrelated to “the primary goal.” As a writer, I have to get involved with many situations, and as I learned, be able to tell those stories effectively. Telling them live, on-stream, can enhance my writing.

To write “The Story,” I must first do many other things. I first wrote Novel 01, and before I could write Novel 02, life took me down a near-year-long path of dealing with spine pain – the worst pains I’ve ever felt for the longest stretches of my life. Far worse than any troll-like behavior, that pain taught me fortitude through the storms of life. A few weeks after positive health events, I’m well enough to record again.

My streams have been infrequent lately, so this one was like a return to form, considering I’d spent the past few streams doing art or retro content. What I enjoy about using jank blocks is that I can easily draw diagrams that either help me tell “The Story,” based on lessons I learned writing “Novel 01” to write “Novel 02” and beyond, or, talk about complex psychological topics like the poison/evil everyone has deep inside of ourselves.

Writing “The Story,” along with “Novel 02” will require giving many parts of myself out to the world, as I did with “Novel 01.” Not everyone is interested in that. That’s fine. We shouldn’t try to befriend everyone. What happens, though, if someone insidious gets into our life and begins abusing it? Unless we completely close ourselves out from everyone, it’s bound to happen, so we should do what we can to guard ourselves and our allies.

On days like today, I didn’t make much outward progress toward writing “The Story,” “Novel 02” or the novella that I intend as my proof-of-concept for everything I’ve been working on over the past year. When I wrote “Novel 01,” I took the adage of “jump before you’re ready” because I thought “will I ever be truly ready?” With that under my belt, I can know when I am ready, and part of that is mobilizing interest.

WANNA CONSIDER MY LONG-TERM PLANS FOR WRITING? CLICK HERE TO KEEP ON READING!
I didn’t make much significant progress toward writing “The Story” or “Novel 02” today. I’ve been sick for a while now, not just because of the spine pain, but the long-term effects of dealing with chronic pain. Added to that, I had to deal with some spicy food that wiped me out for the few days before I wrote this essay. I have didn’t these worries when I wrote “Novel 01” so when/if my health becomes better…
Spoilers?: Minor [systematic writing progress]

With my current health, I should celebrate life’s smaller victories. Doing bigger projects wipe me out faster now compared to doing, say, shorter streams or recordings – like this one, where we didn’t do much, but we made some progress. If that’s the pace I’ll need to work toward writing “The Story,” it’s not the pace I would normally work or the pace I wrote “Novel 01,” but if I write “Novel 02,” that’s overall what’s important, right?

WANNA CONSIDER HOW LONGER PROJECTS JUST TAKE LONGER WITH LONG-TERM SPINE PAIN? CLICK HERE TO KEEP ON READING!
On a day like today, I couldn’t make much progress in “The Story.” My spine is flaring up from pain too much and it feels so oppressive that I honestly doubt I will ever feel better. I don’t know what will happen. On days like today, having written “Novel 01” felt so far away, and writing “Novel 02” feels impossible. Even though my neuropathy is getting worse, I’ll still keep on doing my best to write something.
