When it comes to “The Story,” I sometimes wonder where the throughlines between fiction and reality weave in and out. It will essentially be a long-form commentary on our reality. As a heavily-fictionalized version of reality with anachronistic changes, the way I’ve constructed the novel series in my mind or the way it was before I discovered it, I can grab inspiration from real life and it won’t really disrupt the flow of the storytelling.
