[Moving Zeal] Keeping VHS Collections

After donating three boxes of VHS tapes, my remaining VHS collection fits into 7 mid-sized boxes, with a TV/VCR and spare VCR/DVD player rounding out the pack. Other than two additional boxes of Disney tapes, which will join me on this first hop on my moving adventures… if they don’t sell, most of the tapes here aren’t worth much. Besides, maybe, some of the anime tapes. Why keep any of them? Is nostalgia worth their weight?

[The Story] Dealing With Neighbors

How do you deal with noisy neighbors? The occasional ruckus is different than patterns of negligence. It’s easy to ignore or shut out something that only happens once or thrice. In “The Story,” John [right] and Trishna [“center”] live in a few apartments, or other multi-family living facilities, throughout their college years and probably early on into their careers, too. How might they handle conflicts that occur as part of the Hedgehog’s dilemma of society?

[The Story] Breaking The Characters

Fiction fascinates me most when characters face impossible odds and sometimes overcome them. Heroes vanquishing villains, people confronting their demons, or even overcoming common problems. The more we relate and invest in these characters, the harder it is to see them battered around. I’ve cared about John and Trishna [center] for over 15 years now. How far will I break them when I write “The Story?” Will I need to break myself in the process?
