I did this recording offline because I needed to work through thoughts in my mind. My health is getting worse and it seems like no matter what I try, nothing seems to help. When I yell into the void for help, to help me write “The Story” or regain my health, it’s silence. I used what energy I had today to build on “Novel 01” and “Novel 02” ideas, and I thought the result looked like this:
What happens when I feel terrible because my spine is actively trying to destroy me, but my mind is still capable of thinking about things? Well, I can’t do anything much, but I can do some of the menial background tasks that can help me tell “The Story” easier. For my livestreaming background image, I included the book cover of “Novel 01” and did other things to better advertise “Novel 02” when I’m able to write it.

In this 20th recording of building set-pieces for “The Story,” I had a healthy audience in my livestreamed session. It was fun taking a variety of questions from people in the chat – I save the logs, and have debated how I want to publish them, because posting them along with the video might make sense, but I’m not sure. I referenced my writing “Novel 01” and explained how these set-pieces would help when I write “Novel 02.”
Now that my health is becoming more consistently not terrible, I can think clearer, and I can use my time to plan for upcoming Minecraft livestreams. I’ve found a way to advertise myself and “The Story” in livestreaming without feeling shitty about forcing myself on others. They can stop in if they’re curious. This is a great platform for me to workshop ideas I learned writing “Novel 01” to write “Novel 02” or even some silly stories.

This was my first livestream of my Minecraft build series where I felt halfway normal. I’ve been using Minecraft as a storytelling tool for eventually telling “The Story” after learning that I don’t tell scene details well from writing “Novel 01.” Although I love and appreciate “Novel 01” for what it is, I can do better. “Novel 02” and beyond can help from the added perspective of thinking about sets at length and from passers-by of the livestream.

When I say that I’m halfway done with Eville Medical Apartment Complex, Building 2, that is a bit misleading. The building’s exterior and proportions are halfway done. What remains is more of a sort of logistical meandry through my imagination as I envision it in “The Story.” I featured the apartment building from within Sammohini’s apartment briefly in Novel 01. Will it appear more in Novel 02? Well, if it’s halfway built, that’s halfway more complete than before.

In this quick video without audio, I invited friend-of-the-website ViridianJack into the Zeal portion of the Eville map. This map has been helping me prioritize my thinking of “The Story,” since I have a visual environment for constant mental reference. As I learned while writing Novel 01, I need more practice here. Before writing Novel 02 and getting into better health, building these set-pieces – Eville Medical, specifically, and mind-palace Zeal – will be a good place to start.

Before livestreaming this build session, I adjusted the aspect ratio then included information on what I’m doing in Minecraft as it relates to “The Story” and Novel 01. My health is still not good enough to where I can do these livestreams frequently, but I felt well enough to livestream today, and I might finally be starting to find an audience. A once-stranger was interested in seeing how I was using Minecraft to build out Novel 02.

Through limitations, there is creativity. Minecraft is not great in terms of level design. To do anything effective at the scale I want to do, where I recreate setpieces I imagine in “The Story,” I have to learn to juggle 9 algebraic variables in my head. The need for this arose after I finished writing Novel 01 and assessed it critically. Building the screenshotted parking lot and outdoor waiting area below proved helpful before I write Novel 02.

My 13th entry of this Minecraft building series was fairly lucky – pun intended. With my health on the mend, finally, I spent over four hours rambling about “The Story,” specifically what I learned while writing Novel 01 to write Novel 02. As I do when I write anything, I meandered through some related and unrelated topics, brainstormed some things, and solved a few logistical problems that were impeding my progress toward writing what I’m thematically code-naming “Novella 1.5.”
